FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Prayer Mountain Church partners with Pastor Larry McKnight and re-launches under a new church name – Joyland, A Church Enjoying the Goodness of God.

Woodland Park, CO – May 23,2010

Things are heating up in Woodland Park!

“Before joining forces with Schlyce and Prayer Mountain church,” says Pastor Larry McKnight, “a group of us were meeting on Friday nights with the simple but powerful purpose of inviting God’s presence in our midst through worship and bible study. We all felt that we were in the initial stages of a new church plant, but didn’t feel released to do anything more. However, after meeting Schlyce, the Lord clearly spoke separately to both of us that we were to work together. So here we are. After several wonderful months of planning and fellowship, we are ready to release something greater than either of us could have done alone.”

“We are delighted to finalize our partnership with Pastor Larry McKnight and rename the church to something that more accurately describes its mission within the broader vision of Prayer Mountain” explained Pastor Schlyce Jimenez. “Prayer Mountain is really a vision for a mountain property, prayer and fasting resort, and sanctuary for God’s presence that would be located near Pike’s Peak. Therefore, as Pastor Larry and I discussed our partnership and the various aspects of the Prayer Mountain vision, it became clear that we needed to rename the church and reposition the name Prayer Mountain to encompass something more.”

The new church name, Joyland – A Church enjoying the goodness of God, embodies the mission of church body called to build Prayer Mountain. It is based on the Psalm 16:11, “Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore,” and reflects the very heart of what Prayer Mountain is all about.

Both Pastor Schlyce and Pastor Larry will hold senior leadership positions with Joyland and teach regularly from the pulpit. Church services under the new name Joyland will be held on Saturday nights, starting June 12th, at 6:00 p.m. at the current Prayer Mountain facility above City Market. Children’s church will also be held during the same time. New websites for Joyland and Prayer Mountain will be launched in the near future.

Friends throughout the Pikes Peak region are encouraged to check out what God is doing in this exciting move of God.

Like the Samaritan woman that Jesus ministered to at the well, Schlyce’s life was transformed by an intimate encounter with Jesus and a deep revelation of the His love that motivated her to tell her story to anyone that would listen. Her ministry was birthed on the streets of Chicago where she began ministering the love of God to drug addicts, the homeless, the sick, and anyone else God placed in her path. Even in those early days, miracles were common as she trusted the Holy Spirit to show her how to effectively pray for and minister to the lost and hurting.

For six years, Schlyce Jimenez trained under visionary leader, Dr. Bill Winston, at Living Word Christian Center, a 17,000 member church in Chicago, Illinois. During that time she attended Dr. Winston’s School of Ministry, was licensed and accepted a full-time staff position with the church. While on staff, she became an instructor in the Bible Training Center, School of Ministry, and Intercessory Prayer Schools teaching classes on the Holy Spirit, signs and wonders and prayer. She led corporate prayer meetings, counseled, taught from the pulpit, led mission trips and trained thousands of people how to have an intimate relationship with Jesus, receive and minister healing and operate in the realm of miracles.

In November 2007, with Pastor Winston’s blessing, the Jimenez family felt led to move to Colorado to start Schlyce Jimenez Ministries. Schlyce’s passion is to help people develop an intimate relationship with the Lord and see the miracle working power of God manifest in the lives of hurting people, by not only helping people receive miracles but to also teaching them to become miracle workers. Schlyce and her husband, Brian, currently reside in Divide, Colo., with their two daughters, Lily Simone and Ella Skye. They are the founders of Prayer Mountain Church - a spirit-filled, family-focused church in Woodland Park, CO; Miracle School - a year-long discipleship training program, modeled after the ministry of Jesus that teaches people to live a naturally supernatural lifestyle; Pike’s Peak Prayer and Healing Center - the first of many prayer and healing centers they plan to open, JESUSshow - a monthly worship service held in downtown Colorado Springs with a mission of ushering people into the presence of Jesus and a move of the Spirit, and GreaterWorks – the broadcasting arm of the ministry that is committed to declaring the gospel of the Kingdom around the world.

We are seeing some amazing things at our Healing Rooms. Here’s just a few of the testimonies from the last couple of months:

Justin Ault came in with pain in his left ankle from a fall on ice . He had swelling and bruising (pain level 3-4). Hands were laid on him and during prayer he experienced a calm and peace and the pain was non-existent. He also had prayer for a hardness of heart and addictions. Hands were laid on him and during prayer he began smiling, had goose bumps and felt a burden lift off. He is confident he will be set completely free. He was also baptized in the Holy Spirit and was feeling good.

Amy Strange was hit by a car while riding her bike in March 2009. She has soft tissue and joint damage in her right knee caused by the accident. For the last four months, she has experienced constant swelling and burning (pain level 3). During prayer, she felt an overwhelming presence of God come over her. She jumped up and down, was able to put all her weight on her right leg, and began hopping on her right leg. Her pain level was 0. She also received a prayer for extreme doubt, shame, and guilt due to occurrences over the last twelve months. She received a word that God was there and loves her very much. The shame was not hers and that God wanted her to rest in him; it was a time for healing. She felt the power of the presence of God all around her; she experienced warmth, became light headed and felt all the burdens lift off.

In April 2009, Kimberly Marshall was hit by a dune buggy while four-wheeling. She was thrown 70 feet and was severely injured. She sustained multiple broken bones and internal injuries requiring surgery and was bruised from head to toe. She still suffers from persistent back pain (her back was broken in eight places), left hip pain (her hip was broken in three places) and right knee pain (her knee was dislocated and all the ligaments were torn). She has a chronic dull pain (pain level 5) in her back daily. Three to four times a week she experiences bone on bone intense pressure in her left hip(pain level 6-7) Her right knee feels tight and sore off and on (pain level 3-4). She came in for prayer for her back and knee. During prayer, she experienced the presence of the Holy Spirit come over her and heat on her knee as the prayer minister touched her. The minister had Kimberly touch her own knee and she felt heat go through her whole body from her hand. She could bend her knee backwards and touch her foot to her bottom. She is feeling good and she is pain free.

Russell Divine prayed for Pastor Barlow during his recent visit to the ministy. Pastor Barlow said “his ministry was very comforting and encouraging, I have seen a decrease in the amount of coughing I was doing. Also, Catherine Toon prophesied over me and her words were very accurate. I was very blessed. Thanks for your faithfulness.”

For two and a half years I have had pain like a pinched nerve in my right shoulder (pain level 4-5) with numbness and tingling down my arm and a cold sensation in my hand. During prayer the prayer team laid hands on me. I felt heat from the hand of the prayer minister on my shoulder. My pain went to level 1-2. Two weeks later, I had prayer for the same symptoms in my shoulder, especially for the cold sensation in my hand. I experienced a loosening in my shoulder and heat in my hand as I was prayed over. Warmth has returned to my hand and I am pain free.

The word of God in Mark 16 clearly teaches that miracles should follow believers. Yet, how many Christians actually experience this? Today, most Christians are either following signs, have been taught that miracles have passed away or believe that God is in control of whether miracles happen. As a result many Christians have gone their whole life without witnessing a single miracle much less learning how to do them. Yet, when Jesus walked the earth, He was clearly training His disciples to do the same works that He did and even greater works. He was training them to demonstrate the reality of the Kingdom of God to people in addition to sharing the gospel. It was His intent that His followers continue the ministry He began in the power of the Holy Spirit He promised to send to them. It is for this very reason that this school has been started.

The Miracle School’s year long curriculum has been specifically designed to teach students how to operate in the realm of the supernatural. Classes, on topics such as prayer, the name of Jesus, signs and wonders, the gifts of the Spirit, faith, and intimacy with God immerse students in the Word of God, strengthen their relationship with God and prepare them to be an effective witness for Jesus Christ. Our classes are unique in that they employ a variety of teaching techniques including live instruction, videos and real-time demonstrations. Furthermore, students are provided hands-on ministry opportunities throughout the program at weekly miracle services and special evangelism events.

The end-times harvest is ripe. There is not a shortage of lost and hurting people. It’s time for the Body of Christ to rise and to once again operate in the realm of miracles. So whether you’re a CEO, a student, a stay-at-home mom, or bus driver, I encourage you to come and take part in this awesome program. Your life and the lives of those you come in contact with will never be the same.

For more information or to register, please contact Iwana Nettles, our School Administrator at inettles@sjmi.org. Hope to see you there!
